UNDO THE TABOO
58% of menstruators feel shame when it comes to their periods. Shed the Shame was created to help dismantle the taboo and empower menstruators surrounding their menstrual health, as well as promote awareness about the work that WaterAid America does regarding menstrual hygiene, health and safety in marginalized communities across the globe.
Our Shed the Shame campaign runs from Menstrual Hygiene Day, May 28th, through World Toilet Day, November 19th. During this time, Lady Box will be donating funds to support WaterAid’s lifesaving work in over 30 countries.
The work that WaterAid does and learning about the stories of marginalized menstruators was part of the inspiration of why Lady Box founder, Aljolynn Sperber, started the organic period subscription box company. Lady Box's vision is to create a space to help menstruators feel empowered, loved, and included in the agency of their own bodies, much like how WaterAid works to do the same via accessibility to resources, education, and clean and safe spaces to menstruate.
And while this campaign runs through November 19th of this year, shedding the shame can be promoted all-year long, 24-7.
Let's make this a lifelong movement until we have dismantled any shame around women's health!

Lady Box and The Agenda. have partnered to co-host a podcast to help shed the shame surrounding cycles - periods, pregnancy, and menopause.
The Shed The Shame. podcast is a space for women, non-binary folks, and men who menstruate to share their stories and normalize talking about periods. We will host 2 to 3 guests each week in a round-robin or "Red Table Talk" style. We'll keep the conversations real and messy, just like periods can be.
If you have a first period, traveling and menstruating, or period sex story, we want you to feel empowered and safe to share it. Fill out the form by clicking or tapping the button below.
Episodes will air on Fridays through November 19, 2021.
